At the end of a column mainly devoted to strange contract incentives (Rafer Alston and Tony Battie have some), Dave D'Alessandro writes that the Nets made a bid for Shawn Marion but the 6'7" All-Star said no thanks. According to Dave D, the Nets were ready to clear $6 to $7 million in cap space for Marion. Meanwhile, Rod Thorn says he's monitoring "three or four guys" in free agency to see who drops.
