Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Brooklyn Beep Marty Markowitz and David Stern back Bruce Ratner's decision to replace Frank Gehry. "Ratner came to the conclusion that in this day and age you just cannot finance something as complex to build as that stadium," said Bloomberg. Markowitz called it "too ultramodern" while Stern praised Ellerbe Becket. "I look forward to opening night at the Barclays Center."
