Sports Business Journal reports that Ellerbe Becket, a Kansas City architectural firm, has been working with the Nets for three years, "making adjustments to arena blueprints to see how it can be built at a lower cost." Under architect Frank Gehry's plans, the arena would have cost nearly a billion dollars and taken nearly three years to build. Ellerbe Becket designed arenas for the Bobcats and Grizzlies.
