Jarvis Hayes has missed only one game with partially torn thumb ligaments but that doesn't mean he's playing pain-free. Far from it. "It's a possibility I'll have to (stop playing)," he admits, quickly adding, "But we're so close to the playoffs. And I feel I'm a big help." He sure was Tuesday night. He admits his defense is most affected by the injury. Also, Eduardo Najera got some good news: He may not need surgery.
