Nuggets Send Nets Home with 25-point Loss

The Nets' disastrous road trip came to an end Monday night with a blowout at the hands of the Denver Nuggets. The Nets brought their poor defense from L.A. early on, allowing 30 points in the first quarter. They tightened up the D temporarily in the second, got back in the game and were down just four early in the third quarter, but a 10-0 Denver run gave the Nuggets a double-digit lead for good. Vince Carter had his second straight big game, scoring 32 points on 13-23 shooting, while Keyon Dooling, starting for the injured Devin Harris, added 17 points and six assists. But the Nets' defense was their undoing once again. Denver had six players in double-figures, scored 72 points in the second half and pulled down 24 offensive boards in the game. They outscored the Nets 62-24 in the paint.
