Nets Blow Golden Opportunity

The Nets blew a chance to take over eighth place in the East by themselves Wednesday night at Golden State, falling to the 22-42 Warriors for the second time this season. After scoring 67 points in the first half and leading by 14 midway through the third quarter, the Nets collapsed, getting outscored 41-16 over a span of 12 1/2 minutes. They made a late run, cutting the 11-point Golden State lead down to two, but they never got a chance to tie it. Devin Harris led seven Nets in double figures with 31 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds, but also turned the ball over six times. Brook Lopez and Trenton Hassell combined for 27 points on 13-20 shooting, but Vince Carter shot just 5-18. The Nets were outrebounded 54-38 and outscored by 16 points at the free throw line.
