Jarvis Hayes' contract runs out on June 30 at which point the Nets have to decide whether to exercise a team option that would cost them $2 million or drop him. Hayes, who's becoming a fan--and team favorite--for his hustle plays, likes the Nets and wants to stay. He's proved it by playing what some have called the "one-handed power forward" position...he tore thumb ligaments this month but has kept playing.
