Brooklyn's borough president and long-time Atlantic Yards backer Marty Markowitz has called the state's transit czar and asked that federal stimulus dollars be used to complete a new rail yard being built beneath the Nets' arena, a yard Bruce Ratner was supposed to pay for. "Atlantic Yards would represent thousands of jobs ASAP," said Markowitz. Gov. David Paterson has been non committal about the funding.
