Mavs Get Their Revenge

Dallas fans weren't chanting "Thank you, Cuban" like Nets fans did two months ago...but they could have. Jason Kidd put on a virtuoso performance, making his shots, running the break, hitting teammates with passes all over the court. Four Mavs finished with 20 or more points, led by Josh Howard with 24, Kidd and Dirk Nowitzki with 23 and ex-Net Antoine Wright with 20. Kidd also had 10 assists and three rebounds, shooting 7-10 including 5-6 from the arc, a couple of them when left alone and dared to fire away. Devin Harris, who scored 41 in December to exact his revenge, had 18 on 5-8 shooting. Harris had to retreat to the locker room in the first half to get additional padding on his ribs. Jarvis Hayes also left the game, but didn't return after hurting his thumb. X-rays were negative, but he'll undergo an MRI. The Nets played well in the first half, leading at the half, but an offensive explosion by the Mavs blew them out in the third. The Nets came back in the fourth, getting within 12 late after being down by more than 20. Yi Jianlian played 20 minutes, scoring 9 points on 3-7 shooting and grabbing 4 rebounds.
