The salary cap is set the first week of July, just before free agents are signed. It's a widely anticipated number every July, more so next year because of the big free agent crop. Early estimates put the number at $52 million. The latest ones suggest a higher figure, maybe as high as $55 million. At the lower number, the Nets would have $23 million in cap space. If it's higher, the Nets could have $26+ million or more.
