How Are the Nets Like a Rock Group?

New, comments

When a rock group tours nationally, its contract contains a "maintenance of effort" clause. If some members of the band don't show, its percentage of the gate is reduced. If the Nets do a deal with the Devils and Newark, they'll have a similar clause demanding team payroll be a certain percentage of the salary cap and staff levels be maintained. Wins aren't required, Sports Business Journal reports.
