Wednesday, it was reported a deal to put the Nets in Newark had all but collapsed. Now, Mayor Cory Booker says he's "very confident" things will work out: "We are in a very strong position. I actually believe the Nets will be playing here very soon." Booker didn't detail the reasons behind his confidence. The NJSEA had been willing to let the Nets out of their lease without penalty, then reneged.
