He's still the general manager, and although Rod Thorn has taken over most of those duties, Kiki Vandeweghe does think like a GM, or more specifically, a player development guy. He's been talking lately about how the team has to think long term, balancing the urge to win with the need to get better. It means playing the younger guys more and tolerating their mistakes.
