Designed with Nets in Mind, "The Rock" Awaits a Decision...or Two

As Alex Raskin of HoopsWorld writes, the Prudential Center was first concieved not as a hockey arena but one built for basketball. Pre-Bruce Ratner, the Nets' owners wanted to move to Newark, but couldn't get the state on board. Their arena design got picked up by the Devils. So, The Rock has locker rooms designed to NBA specs and sight lines set for NBA fans' eyes. Now all they need is a political decision.
