The Star-Ledger reports more than half the 12,790 who attended the Nets-Celtics game at "The Rock" watched the game from "free or almost-free seats". According to the Ledger, 5,000 tickets were distributed to community groups, schools and other organizations by foundations and another 2,100 were bought for $10 each. The Devils and Nets aren't bothered by the freebies, saying the game built their brands.
