Nets Lose Another Big Lead

The Nets dropped to 0-4 on the preseason Tuesday night at the Prudential Center, giving up a 14-point second half lead and falling 91-88 to the Celtics, who were playing without Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce. Instead it was Rajon Rondo who picked up the slack, coming away with a near triple-double: 18 points, 13 assists and nine rebounds. And once again, there are injuries to report. Devin Harris (strained right groin) and Yi Jianlian (strained right shoulder) did not play in the second half. Courtney Lee led the Nets with 21 points, Chris Douglas-Roberts added 19, and Brook Lopez finished with a double-double, 17 points and 10 rebounds. The official attendance was 12,790, a strong turnout for the first game at the Rock. The Nets return to Newark in eight days to play the Knicks. "It’s not really severe – it’s a slight strain," Harris said of his groin injury after the game. "Doctors want to take precaution. We’ll reevaluate it tomorrow, and probably be back hopefully by the weekend."
