Celtics Blow Out Nets Again

New, comments

The Nets were crushed by the Boston Celtics for the second time in four days Saturday afternoon at the IZOD Center. The game was essentially over after an 18-2 Boston run to start the game. With the Nets down 68-39 at halftime, Lawrence Frank sat Devin Harris and Vince Carter down for the entire second half. The two combined for just 12 points on 4-for-14 shooting. Frank called the effort (for the want of a better word) "totally embarrassing" and described himself as "very, very embarrassed". Brook Lopez led the Nets with 28 points and 10 rebounds, while Jarvis Hayes added 15 points off the bench. Other than Lopez, the high scorers among the starters were Harris and Ryan Anderson, both with seven points. As a team, the Nets shot just 41 percent from the field, while the Celtics shot 52 percent. Ray Allen led the Celtics with 25 and Rajon Rondo wheeled and dealed around Harris in the first half, finishing with a game-high 14 assists.
