Nets Can't Stop Blazers in Fourth

The Nets were able to keep the Blazers' in check for three quarters, but Portland scored 37 points in the fourth to come back for a 105-99 victory at the IZOD Center Thursday night. The first half was close throughout, but the Nets built an 11-point lead early in the third quarter. The Blazers caught up early in the fourth and the Nets just couldn't get any stops down the stretch. The Nets shot 51 percent from the field, but were outrebounded 45-34. Brandon Roy led the Blazers with 29 points and rookie Jerryd Bayless had a career-high 23. Devin Harris led the Nets with 23 points and eight assists, but Vince Carter had his second straight off-night, shooting just 4-14. Lawrence Frank admitted Carter may not fully recovered from his foot injury suffered against the Celtics. Brook Lopez added 17 points and six boards, outplaying Greg Oden who scored only two points and grabbed only one board.
