In an AP story about his own team's draft prospects, Pacer GM Larry Bird says he has tried to acquire the Nets second pick, the one acquired in the Jason Kidd trade. Problem is Rod Thorn won't give it up. "I did talk to New Jersey a few times, but they never indicated they were willing to give up picks," Bird said. In his chat today, Andy Katz of ESPN said "a few teams are pursuing NJ's 21", hoping it's for sale.
