It's still early. With 11 days left til the draft, anything can happen, and all the mocks can be turned topsy-turvy. Want to know by how much? Last year at this time, Josh McRoberts was the overwhelmingly favorite for the Nets at #17. He was taken at #37 by the Blazers and spent most of his season on the injured list or in the D-League. Sean Williams, the Nets' ultimate pick, was languishing near the bottom of mock drafts.
With all that said, a survey of 15 mock drafts--out of the more than 100 on the web--shows that DeAndre Jordan of Texas A&M is the draftniks' top choice for the Nets' first pick at #10, with four of the 15 putting him at that spot. Danilo Gallinari of Italy and Darrell Arthur of Kansas are next with three votes. Brook Lopez of Stanford got two.
At #21, it's Nicolas Batum of France and Brandon Rush of Kansas chosen by three mocks each and Serge Ibaka of Congo chosen by two.
There's no consensus at #40, although Jason Thompson of Rider got one vote for #21 and one more at #40.
