The Nets' losing streak is at four and their magic number to be eliminated is at three after a thumping at the hands of the Pistons Friday night. The Nets, playing without Vince Carter, never led and never had a chance. They shot 45 percent from the field, made just one of their 12 attempts from downtown, and were outrebounded 48-31. Richard Jefferson led the Nets with 15 points and Stromile Swift had 11 off the bench. Detroit shot 53 percent and had six players in double figures. DeSagana Diop also sat out with a sore knee.
