From Game 12 through Game 82, Vince Carter played with a damaged right ankle. It wasn't his best season, nor his worst. While Carter will always have his detractors, the numbers speak for themselves, and his insistence that he continue to play after the Nets had been eliminated contradicts his reputation and speaks of his leadership.
