The Nets came out hot and led the Hornets for the entire first half in New Orleans Friday night, but the second half was an entirely different story. The Hornets came out of the break with a 16-2 run to take control of the game, they scored 35 points in the third quarter and led by as many as 20 in the fourth. The Nets cut it down to eight with two minutes to go, but that was as close as they got down the stretch. Chris Paul led the Hornets with 25 points and 16 assists, while rookie Julian Wright scored a career-high 20. The Nets were solid offensively, shooting 49 percent from the field, led Richard Jefferson's 27 points on 12-of-22 shooting and another solid performance from Nenad Krstic. But they got to the line only seven times, and they allowed the Hornets to shoot 52 percent and put up 27 fast break points.
