When the Nets and Mavs trade was announced, DeSagana Diop was listed under "expiring contracts". But the Dallas Morning News reports that the deal wouldn't have gotten done without the 7-footer. The Nets, Mark Cuban told reporters, insisted on Diop. Now, Rod Thorn and Kiki Vandeweghe both say they want to keep Diop when the contract expires this summer.
