New York Provides Ratner $55 Million to Help Arena

The state and city of New York has transferred $55 million to Bruce Ratner so he can begin making improvements to the infrastructure around the new Nets' arena, even though civil suits are still proceeding through the courts. The state and city have agreed to provide more than $300 million in aid to help compensate Ratner for upgrading things like roads, sewer and water around the arena site.
