The Nets got off to a quick start Tuesday night in San Antonio, shooting 10-for-15 in the first quarter and leading by eight early in the second. But they cooled off considerably after that and the Spurs ended the first half on a 9-0 run to take a seven-point lead into halftime. San Antonio then began the second half on a 9-1 run to push the lead to 15. The Nets made a couple of small runs after that, but never cut it down to less than eight. For the game, the Nets shot just 38 percent from the floor (30 percent after the first). The Spurs were worse, hitting just 34 percent of their shots, but they got to the line an additional 15 times and had 14 offensive boards. Marcus Williams had a strong shooting game, scoring 16 points off the bench, while Vince Carter led the team with 19 points and Nenad Krstic grabbed 10 boards. But in his first start, Devin Harris shot just 5-for-17 and committed five turnovers.
