Nuggets Outgun Nets

It was another high-scoring affair at the IZOD Center Friday night, but the Nets couldn't match the firepower of the Denver Nuggets. Scoring 33 points in the first quarter and 34 in the second, the Nuggets led the entire first half and were up 12 at the break. It was a 17-point lead early in the third quarter when the Nets charged back, using a 27-8 run to take a two-point lead late in the period. But the lead didn't last long and the Nuggets started the fourth quarter on a 14-1 run to take back control. They shot 54 percent for the game and had six players in double-figures. The Nets shot 51 percent and were led by Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson, who combined for 61 points on 23-of-41 from the field. Devin Harris and Josh Boone each recorded double-doubles. Harris' 13 assists were a career high, besting the 12 he recorded six days ago. Atlanta was idle, so they take back the eighth spot in the East.
