Nets Hold On, Beat Cavs for Third Time

Don't count them out just yet. The Nets returned home from their terrible trip and pulled out a 104-99 win over the Cavs Wednesday night. The Nets came out with energy and accuracy, hitting their first nine shots of the game and leading by as many as 17 points early on. It was an 11-point game at the half, but the Nets used a 10-0 run early in the third to go up 19. But led by LeBron James, Cleveland climbed back in it and had the lead down to one with five minutes to go. The Nets never gave up the lead though, got key steals by Devin Harris and Vince Carter, a big three from Harris, and an even bigger offensive rebound from Carter that sealed the game in the final seconds. Richard Jefferson led the Nets with 24 points on 8-of-11 shooting, Harris finished with 19 on 8-of-14, and Boki Nachbar had a huge game off the bench with 21 points. The Nets assisted on 30 of their 39 field goals and scored 20 points off of 18 Cleveland turnovers. With the win and Atlanta's loss to Houston, the Nets moved back into eighth place in the East.
