Kidd Leads the Way to Easy Victory

Just when you least expected it, the Nets got a brilliant performance from Jason Kidd, and the rest of the team followed his lead on their way to just their third double-digit victory of the season Friday night in Charlotte. Kidd had 12 points, nine boards and three assists in the first quarter as the Nets jumped out to an early 11-point lead. The Bobcats got back to within two late in the second quarter, but the Nets opened it back up in the third and put the game away midway through the fourth with consecutive threes from Kidd, Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson. The Nets shot 48 percent from the field, including 9-for-16 from downtown, while holding Charlotte to just 41 percent shooting. Kidd finished with 19 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists, the 99th triple-double of his career. Jefferson led all scorers with 23 points, Carter added 18 points and nine boards, and Josh Boone recorded his eighth double-double of the season. Stromile Swift made his Net debut and scored two points in three minutes of garbage time.
