Strong Start Not Nearly Enough for Nets in Orlando

The Nets started out hot Wednesday night at Amway Arena and led the Magic by 11 in the opening minutes. But they were unable to sustain their lead and Orlando went ahead for good midway through the second quarter. They led by nine at the break, by 17 after three, and by as many as 20 in the fourth. The Nets, who have now lost 12 of their last 14 games, shot just 42 percent from the field, only got to the line 16 times, and committed 17 turnovers. Boki Nachbar had another solid game off the bench, but Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson combined to shoot just 11-for-29. Nenad Krstic played 14 minutes, shooting 1-for-5 from the field and grabbing six boards.
