Its has to be the most bizarre suit filed by opponents of the Nets' new home in Brooklyn. A local activist has sued Barclays Bank, Bruce Ratner and Jay-Z, claiming the bank, along with the Nets' owners, should pay out $5 billion in reparations for its role in the slave trade. Critics have accused Barclays, who bought the arena naming rights, of profiting from the trade 300 years ago. The bank has vigorously denied it. Meanwhile another critic has released information on changes in the project.
