They're still talking and so there's some optimism. According to one set of reports, New Jersey wants Dallas to engineer a sign-and-trade for Keith Van Horn. The Mavs want the Nets to take Trenton Hassell, ultimately a $4 million difference. Other reports suggest the Mavs want the Nets to take both. No matter what, Mark Cuban says the teams are still "exploring". Meanwhile, David Stern signalled the league wouldn't necessarily hold up a trade because of a Jerry Stackhouse side deal.
