The Jason Kidd to Dallas deal is either off or on hold. Devean George, who was part of the package that the Mavs were sending to New Jersey, has exercised his right to block the deal. George's agent said he's unlikely to change his mind. It's believed the two sides will try to come up with an alternative deal but there may be a new wrinkle. Jerry Stackhouse told AP the Nets and Mavs have a side deal where he would be bought out and then resigned by Dallas. That's a no-no under NBA rules.
