Nets Get Third Straight Win

New, comments

Tuesday's game at the IZOD Center wasn't pretty, but the Nets will take all the wins they can get these days. They led the Timberwolves by three after a first half in which the teams combined to shoot 35 percent, and they were able to build a 10-point lead by the end of the third quarter. The Timberwolves cut the lead down to four with just over two minutes to go in the game, but the Nets didn't blow this one, holding on for a four-point victory. They held Minnesota to just 37 percent shooting, and didn't allow Al Jefferson (5-for-18) to get comfortable. Jason Kidd finished one assist and one point shy of triple-double No. 100, and both Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson posted double-doubles. Nenad Krstic showed more progress, scoring 10 points on 5-of-9 from the field and grabbing eight rebounds, while Boki Nachbar provided a lift off the bench, scoring 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting. The Nets recorded 30 assists on 35 field goals.
