Nets Blow Out Timberwolves

After the Nets lost to the Wizards on Tuesday, Vince Carter said that the next opponent would pay. And that's what the Minnesota Timberwolves did Friday night at the Meadowlands. The game was close for about six minutes, but the Nets used a 15-4 run to take control late in the first quarter. Minnesota cut the Nets' lead down to six late in the second, but that would be as close as the game got, as the Nets used a 17-6 run midway through the third to blow it open. Vince Carter led seven Nets in double-figures with 18 points, Yi Jianlian hit 4-of-7 from downtown and Brook Lopez recorded his fourth career double-double. Jason Collins did not score in four minutes of action for the Wolves. It was the Nets' biggest margin of victory since March 27, 2006, when they beat the Suns by 38. Also, the Nets are now 10-8, their best record after 18 games since the 2002-03 season.
