The US Tennis Association will seek bids next month for enclosing its Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens. USTA wants to eliminate washouts that have plagued the US Open, but admits it may need an NBA or NHL team to pay for the roof. In fact, the USTA once called the NBA about luring the Nets to Queens. The Nets aren't interested, but their lease with the NJSEA does permit them to move to Queens without penalty.
