Bruce Ratner has given more than $70,000 this year to the Democratic Party and its candidates, including $4,600 to Barack Obama's campaign. Among the others receiving campaign cash from the Nets' owner was Rep. Edolphus Towns, a Brooklyn congressman, and Sen. Carl Levin of Michigan, Ratner gave most of his money, $57,000 to the Democrats' Senate campaign. Keyon Dooling gave Obama $500.
