The big news today surrounds the Knicks' efforts to get under the cap by 2010. But Ric Bucher writes in ESPN the Magazine that a lot of what's going on around the league maybe more about cost-cutting than prepping for 2010. He suggests that in normal times, players with "hefty" contracts like Vince Carter would already be "tasty trade bait"...and even suggests a Carter trade.
