Nets $8.5 Million Under Luxury Tax Threshold

The Nets' new roster puts them $8,483,774 below the luxury tax threshold, according to NBA data obtained by ESPN's Marc Stein. One big reason: the trade of Jason Kidd for Devin Harris. The Nets were over the tax threshold at the beginning of the last three seasons and only salary dump trades got them under it. The Nets could, if they wanted, take on a lot more in additional salary without having to pay the tax.
