Well, it could just as easily be said that the Nets saved Kiki from the Knicks. Mitch Lawrence of the Daily News reports that Kiki Vanderweghe was hoping for the GM job in the Garden, not the IZOD Center. Lawrence adds that Kiki was not alone, that the league also wanted the former Knick to replace Isiah Thomas. Ira Winderman, writing for Hoopsworld, says he could get a second chance. His Nets' deal expires July 1.
