Nets Can't Overcome Slow Start, Lose Eighth Straight

The Nets went back to the no-offense model for Friday night's game in Denver. They scored just 31 points in the first half, trailing by as many as 19 late in the second quarter. They were down 22 midway through the third, but used an 20-4 run to get back in the game. The Nuggets opened it back up early in the fourth, but the Nets climbed back within five with less than four minutes to go in the game. That was as close as they got however, as they missed their final nine shots of the contest. As a team, they shot just 38 percent from the floor and committed 20 turnovers. Jason Kidd recorded a triple-double, Josh Boone had his second straight double-double and Richard Jefferson led the team with 19 points.
