Nets Slide Continues With OT Loss to Clippers

Despite some impressive performances from their young role players, the Nets dropped their fourth straight Saturday night at Staples Center. The game was tight throughout and the Clippers used a 14-2 run to take a five-point lead with 45 seconds to go in the fourth. But the Nets came back and a Jason Kidd hit a three to tie the game with 6.5 seconds to go in regulation. Sean Williams then denied Tim Thomas on the other end, but a Kidd inbounds lob for Williams didn't connect as time expired. The Clippers then scored the first eight points of overtime and the Nets couldn't recover. Josh Boone and Sean Williams each recorded double-doubles and Marcus Williams had his best game of the season, scoring 17 points on 6-of-11 from the field. But Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson combined to shoot 12-for-32 from the field and Kidd and Boone combined for 11 of the team's 17 turnovers. Meanwhile, the Clippers got big games from Corey Maggete and rookie Al Thornton and shot 48 percent as a team.
