Nets Can't Sustain First-Quarter Pace, Fall to Knicks Again

The Nets came out on fire Wednesday night at the IZOD Center, scoring 33 points in the first quarter and leading by as many as 16 early in the second. But the Knicks turned the game around after that, scoring 34 in both the second and third quarters, and leading by as many as 15 early in the fourth. The Nets came back though and the game went back and forth down the stretch before a Jamal Crawford three gave the Knicks a three-point lead with a minute to go. A Jason Kidd three on the next possession went in and out and the Nets never got another chance to tie. Turnovers (16) and free throw shooting (20-31) were again issues for the Nets. Vince Carter led them with 26 points, adding eight boards and seven assists. Kidd dished out 10 assists in the first quarter and finished with 10 points and 17 dimes and Josh Boone also had a double-double with 18 points and 12 boards.
