Nets and Knicks Talked Carter, But Whose Idea Was It?

Buried in a Sacramento Bee story today on prospects for a Mike Bibby trade to the Knicks was this tidbit: Isiah Thomas turned down a Nets' offer to bring Vince Carter to Madison Square Garden. The story has no other details and it is attributed to a single unidentified source. But Fred Kerber's source says it was the other way around, that the Knicks offered Zach Randolph for Carter, and that the Nets declined. ESPN's Chris Sheridan says the offer involved Jamal Crawford, not Randolph.
