The Nets are expected to sign veteran big man--and Willingboro native--Malik Allen to a one-year vets' minimum contract. The contract is non-guaranteed. The 6'-10", 255-pound Allen averaged 4.0 ppg and 2.0 rpg in 60 games for the Bulls last season with career averages of 6.0 ppg and 3.3 rpg. He's 29 years old and has a reputation as a good defender. Allen would be insurance against slow recoveries by injured big men Nenad Krstic and Josh Boone. The Nets will work out 6'-8" Jumaine Jones next week.
