Should Allan Houston decide to go elsewhere, Jumaine Jones is waiting in the wings for the Nets' backup wing job. Jones, who is eight years younger and two inches taller than Houston, worked out for the team this week and according to reports is the man the Nets will turn to if the former Knick goes elsewhere or simply takes too long to make his decision. Jones, who the Nets have been interested in before, has career averages of 7.1 ppg, 4.2 rpg and 35% from beyond the arc. An off season injury a year ago kept him from breaking into the Suns' rotation last season.
