When the Nets' new arena opens in Brooklyn in 2009, it will have many unique aspects, including a large number of skyboxes and broad entry ways for crowd access. But its most unique aspect will be a park sitting on top of it, a green spot where most arenas have their heating and air-conditioning units. The park is the creation of America's best-known landscape architect, Laurie Olin. He and his work for Bruce Ratner is featured in the University of Pennsylvania magazine.
