Jamaal Magloire, the 6'-11" former All-Star who has played with the Hornets, Bucks and Trailblazers, joined the Nets Friday, agreeing to a one-year, $4 million deal. He turned down two-year deals from three other teams. Magloire averaged 6.5 ppg and 6.1 rpg last season in Portland, playing 21 minutes per game. The 29-year-old has career averages of 9.5 and 7.5. Rod Thorn called him a low post threat who brings toughness. Lawrence Frank said he told Magloire he could easily start for the team.
