The Nets go into Draft Night with a choice: take the big man they have needed for three years or go for the best available player, who could easily be a swingman or point guard. With Vince Carter's resigning looking like a done deal and Jason Kidd not going anywhere, the Nets don't need help there, but the talent could be just too tempting. In short, they want the option of looking up at the board like they did last June and finding a player like Marcus Williams, someone they didn't expect to see.
