Bruce Ratner has appointed MaryAnne Gilmartin as the new executive in charge of Atlantic Yards, the Brooklyn complex anchored by the Nets' new arena. Gilmartin will replace James Stuckey, the long time head of the project who resigned abruptly to "pursue other challenges", leading some to suggest he was fired. Stuckey was often caught up in the heated back-and-forth between Ratner and the arena critics. The critics have suffered several defeats recently in New York courts.
